I have met a witness to the destruction of large ammonite fossils, over 1 foot in diameter

The motivation for destroying fossils is to ensure the continuing operation of the mine, as these fossils are otherwise protected.

Additionally, Alpena has a much higher cancer rate due to proximity to mines.

Harbison Farm is a ranch market run by a very welcoming family. This is by far the nicest place to pick up produce, especially if you have explorative kids.

There are chickens, ducks, turkeys, Guinea fowl, and friendly dogs for the little ones to enjoy.
